(NB: Explanation from Ancestry member - Stan Irwin (through EORFORWINE 10 Mar 2011):
Whilst researching Catherine Taylor (nee ?) the only clue I had to her maiden name was the fact that a James Montgomery (listed as other relative) was living with her and her husband, John Taylor, in 1881.
I built up the Montgomery family as far as possible but this James Montgomery always eluded me.
I eventually found a marriage between James Atherton and Elizabeth Montgomery (father named as Joseph Watkinson), in 1855.
Although I have not found a marriage yet there is a Thomas Montgomery and his wife, Elizabeth, living with John Watkinson and his wife, Ellen (nee Montgomery) in 1851.
Now, James Atherton and Elizabeth Watkinson, (your 2xggpts) are listed as having 3 children in 1861; James 1852, Catherine 1853, and William 1859.
This implies that James was a child of Thomas Montgomery and Elizabeth Watkinson and William was the child of James Atherton and Elizabeth Watkinson. Catherine appears to be the child of James and his previous wife, Cicely Millington.
Thus my Catherine Taylor is this Catherine Atherton.``
