Bernard came to America in 1886. Poem written by Eleanor Atherton Evans: `Take me to Missouri Valley Where the grave yard fronts the east, Where a thousand dead are sleeping Who from life have been released. Bury me in the Rose Hill grave yard With a six foot for my bed There to await the eternal morning Through the years while I am dead. Lay me in that silent valley Where the grasses oft are green, And the silver maple`s swaying With a marble cross between In the stillness of that valley, With a grave stone at my head I shall await the resurrection In the valley of the dead.`
