    • From Gwenda:
In the 1851 Census Abraham is in the Workhouse having been deserted by his mother 8 days before his father married someone else. (See father Charles Atherton)
On the 1861 Census at Pen Roe, Whitford were John Richardson Head Wid 64 Lead Ore Worker b. Flints. Whitford, John Jones Son in Law Mar 39 Coal Miner b, Whitford, Mary Dau Mar 32 b. Whitford, Ellis R Jones, Gr.Son 1 b. Whitford,
I don't know but I think Abraham is a nephew to John Jones not John Richardson and his mother Sarah Jones was probably a sister to John Jones.
Abraham married Jane Roberts on 10th August 1866 at the Register Office, Holywell, he was a Lead Smelter, a Bachelor from Penrhewl, Mostyn and his age was 24. His father was Charles Atherton (deceased) a Coachman. Jane was 27; a spinster from Pen Roe, Mostyn and her father was Richard Roberts (deceased) a labourer. The witnesses were Elizabeth Jones and what looked like Elizen Roberts, the registrar who made the copy certificate had difficulty reading the writing.
Jane Roberts and her daughter Ann Roberts are with her mother Margaret Roberts on the 1861 Census on the previous page to Abraham.
In the 1871 Census at Mount Pleasant, Greenfield, were Abraham Atherton Head Mar 28 Labourer b. Flints. Whitford, Jane Atherton Wife Mar 31 b. Whitford, Anne Atherton Dau 11 Scholar b. Whitford
The daughter Anne Roberts/Atherton married Robert Davies in 1879 using the surname Atherton, the father's name was left blank.

Abraham died in 1873 and his burial entry is in the Mostyn Burial register on 11th February, he was aged 31. His father Charles was only 37 when he died.

His widow Jane married Owen Williams in Bagillt Church in 1884.
